Assalamualaikum..my name is farahin .During the first week of fyp 1, i try to find a suitable title for my final year project. however, all the title that i found in the internet is difficult and complex. Then, i met my supervisor, madam Azliza and discuss with her. she suggests some titles.
fyp 1 - week 2
i have chosen a title which is Real Time Mail Detector. The title is quite interesting because this project will facilitate people/user to know their mailbox status without check it frequently. Thanks to my supervisor
fyp 1 - week 3
i do some research about my title to get some information. According to my understanding about this project, the owner of the mailbox will receive notification through message or email when any letters entered the mailbox. thus we can see the advantages of this project:-
-> owner of the mailbox will always informed about their letters
-> the possibility of missing out on the deadline of an important document is low.

First fyp 1 briefing was held on 17th March 2017 at TTL 2 from 3 - 5 pm which is conducted by DR Siti Marwangi. she explained about the objective fyp 1, assessment scheme and the first step that needs to be done for fyp 1.

my title was officially registered in the system. Therefore, i try to find the journals that related to my project as much as i can. so, more information is obtainable.

In this week, the first workshop was held for FYP 1 .
This workshop is focusing on workshop for Introduction and Literature Review Writing for FYP 1 Technical Proposal .

- system of wireless temperature and humidity monitoring based on Arduino Uno platform
- real time metropolitan bus positioning system design using gps and gsm
- a real- time flood alert system for parking lots
- real- time mailbox alert system via sms or email
based on my research, the Arduino is a board that are ready to use. Its RX receive the data and TX is used to transmit the data.Besides, the Arduino can collect and convert the analog signal. In this project,the Atduino will act as the main or brain of the system. A pair of infrared sensor will be used in this project which is IR receiver and IR transmitter. As the fact,this sensor will detect any object coming within the range of the emitted IR and it reflects the IR back to the receiving LED and produce signal. Oher than that, the GSM is used to make a computer of processor communicate over network and consist of RX and Tx pin that will be connected to the Arduino.

activities - make corrections in chapters 2 and 3. Chapter 3 for a flow chart correction is required due to incomplete explanation of the operating system.

submitted chapter 1,chapter 2 and chapter 3 to innovation coordinator via mail for plagiarism detection. besides, attend 3rd FYP 1 workshop and this workshop focusing on presentation skills for project proposal presentation. in this workshop ,i have gained new knowledge about presentation especially the skills to be a good presenter.

the complete proposal which are contains of chapter 1, chapter 2, chapter 3, abstract, conclusions and references was submitted to my supervisor. so, it was the end of FYP 1.😄
fyp 2 - week 1
for the first week of this semester, I have started making a survey of shops selling my project components at reasonable prices. the shop's name is Sigma Components Sdn Bhd and it is located at Jalan Pasar,Kuala Lumpur.

this week i went to that shop to buy my project's components. i think this shop is the best in Jalan Pasar to get arduino related stuff. the total cost of components is RM 200.

First fyp 2 briefing was held on 18th August 2017 at TTL 1 from 3 - 5 pm which is conducted by DR Siti Marwangi. she explained about the assessment scheme and the first step that needs to be done for fyp 2.

i am studying about the gsm coding for my project and it is quite difficult for me. however, i will try hard to understand the coding and do my best for the project💪.

in this week, i try to construct the circuit of my project in the proteus software based on the research in the internet but the circuit can not run. its means that, there is a problem on that circuit😟.
fyp 2 - week 6
fyp 2 briefing was held on 6th September 2017 at TTL 1 from 3 - 5 pm which is conducted by invited speaker, madam Pusprini. this workshop focusing on introduction(chapter 1), literature review (chapter 2), methodology (chapter 3) in thesis writing.
fyp 2 - week 7
I keep doing my research on coding and circuit of my project. besides, i improve the chapter 1 and chapter 2 of my project proposal to fulfill the thesis criteria.
fyp 2- week 8
along this week, i am trying to create a coding for my project using Arduino software that i have downloaded.
there are many errors for the first time compile the coding but i keep trying until one of the coding was verified with success.
fyp - week 9
4/10/2017 which is on Wednesday of this week, a FYP 2 briefing was held at the usual place and conducted by an invited speaker. His name is Sir Fadi M. Albatsh and he explain on how to write the best result & discussion and conclusion for the thesis. The briefing was end at 5pm and many knowledge that i have got which can be use as the guideline to write my thesis.
fyp - week 10
during week 10, i am done with the schematic of the project and in this week also i assemble the circuit.
Figure shows the circuit diagram of
the real -time mail detector. The circuit contains an Arduino
UNO board, infrared sensor (IR sensor), GSM, LDR sensor, LCD and a buzzer to
run the real- time mail detector. Power the Arduino board the use of a 7V to
12V by plug-in adaptor panel [4]. Besides, 9V battery are used to turn on the
LDR sensor but the battery was connected with LM 317 to reduce the voltage due
to the LDR sensor only support 5V. The infrared sensor (IR) affords an analogue
output, that may without difficulty be interfaced with Arduino.
On
this project, infrared sensor linked to analogue pins, A0, of the Arduino
board. each sensor has 4 pins (Vcc, Gnd, Ao and Do) available for interfacing
with the Arduino board. The GS modem managed through Arduino connected to pins
five and six, respectively. This component is used to create two-way
communication. The buzzer connected to Arduino pin 4 and the lcd connected with
selected pins. There are many effort to construct the circuit since it was the first experience that i used an arduino and gsm as the main component in a circuit. However, it will be give many advantages to me.
A briefing was held in this week at TTL 1 on Friday 3p,-5pm. The briefing was conducted by MISS NAJIYAH SALLEH and she is focusing on abstract writing,poster preparation and presentation skill. she explain deeper about the poster preparation. the poster need to have introduction, background project, methodology, results and conclusion. the poster also must attractive.
fyp 2 - week 12
3 weeks before industrial day, i need to design an interesting poster to attract the judges.I would like to choose blue background and very clear font. I also follow the rules to design the poster and the subtopic needed. Then, i meet my adviser and show my poster to her. She ask me to do do some corrections on the background of the project ,results and conclusions.
fyp 2 - week 13
On Friday of this week, the final briefing was held at ttl 1 and conducted by madam Marwangi. This briefing focusing on the things that need to do during industrial day.
Duration of this breifing is 2 hours which is 3pm- 5pm.
fyp 2 week14
the poster was printed in this and look so nice. i also do some preparation for the industrial day soon. beside, the project need to be test and record how its work as the back up for the presentation day if the project not work so well.
fyp 2 - week 15
Fyp 2 poster presentation was held at gemilang hall on Wednesday of this week. The session begin at 9 am and finish at 12 noon. I have been assessed by 2 assessor which are madam Norhayati and madam Norhaslinawati. During the presentation, the assessor give me some opinion to make my project more excellent and the presentation are going so well.
fyp 2 - week 16
I am doing draft of the result and conclusion which are chapter 4 and 5 because the draft need to be submit to my supervisor in this week.
fyp 2 - week 17
I have receive the comments and reviews from my supervisor on draft of chapter 4 and 5. I need to do some corrections on grammar and the plagiarism need to be check on next week.
fyp 2 - week 18
I have submit all the chapter of my thesis which are introduction,literature review, methodology, results and conclusion for the plagiarism detection. I got high percent for the chapter 2 and need to do some correction to reduce the percent. After the correction the percent have been reduce and less than 20%. Thus, its fulfill the criteria of the thesis.
fyp 2 - week 19
the second week of final exam, the hardcover FYP final report have been submit to the resource center. The FYP final report and progress report also submit to my supervisor in this week. Thus, the final year project is already done😂.
